How We Serve — World
Missionary Support Programs
Epworth UMC provides financial and prayer support for two special missionaries. Carol Partridge has been serving in Macedonia since 2000. Carol works with all thirteen of the UMC congregations in Macedonia, especially with children, youth and women. Rev. Steve Johnson and his wife Carol served in Far East Russia for 5 years, but have recently been given a mission position in India. Special offerings collected during our Holy Communion services are usually dedicated to the work of our missionary partners. Email updates can be received directly from our missionaries, contact the church office for details.
Mission Volunteer Teams
Each summer we send out a team of youth on a mission trip. Often they will go to a Sierra Service Project site and help repair homes. They have also gone to the Sacramento area and served with two programs that feed the homeless. We need more volunteers, but we have started the steps needed to send a work team to the Truckee Meadows Habitat for Humanity site or to a Katrina Recovery site. For more details on these mission trips please contact the church office or Kathy Fraker at 867-3095. Ministry: Mission Volunteer Teams

UMCOR Specials
When disasters occur in our world UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) is one of the first groups to respond and offer aid. Through financial support, Epworth also responds. In addition, our United Methodist Women’s group gathers and assembles the goodies needed to make Health Kits and School Kits. These kits are then forwarded on to UMCOR to be sent to areas through out the world that have a need. For more information contact the church office.
