Get Involved — Youth Ministries
Sunday School Studies
Our Bible based Sunday School program runs year-round, with all Sunday morning classes beginning at 9:45am. During the school year (Sept-May) the students in Junior High and High School join together for an easy flow discussion group. A book of the Bible is read through in class, chapter by chapter and then discussion unfolds. Adult leaders are on hand to keep them on task. During the summer break of June-Aug 2010, these students are learning how to create stained glass windows.Youth Group
Youth Group (grades 7 to 12) meets each week; usually on Sunday afternoon. The goal is for our youth to learn to be better Christians in today’s society through outreach, fellowship events, and learning activities.
Youth Mission Trip
Once a year interested youth (14 and older) are given an opportunity to go on a service mission trip. In the past students have gone to Sierra Service Project sites and helped make home repairs and have gone to Loaves and Fishes in Sacramento to help serve meals to the homeless. Plans are being made for the summer of 2011 so the youth can serve with a group that gleans fruit and vegetables for dehydration and repackaging for shipment to 3rd world countries.
Youth Confirmation
Youth entering grades 7-12 are offered a unique chance to do an in depth exploration of their faith with Pastor Gary guiding their way in a confirmation class. This class spans a period of 7-months and concludes on Easter with an opportunity to become a member of this congregation. These classes are offered every other year; the next will begin in the fall of 2010.
